Getting Started-Parent/Carer Consultation
The initial consultation with parents/carers is a time to talk about the student and their needs and ensure the school has the information essential to the student's health and wellbeing. Student Information and any Health Care Plan (if required) must be reviewed and kept up to date.
For new students, it is important that the initial consultation is a face to face meeting. For students who are known to the
school, the initial consultation can be completed over the phone or at the Personalised Learning and Support Plan meeting.
The parents/carers know their child and can give valuable information which assists with the planning and implementation of class programs. It is also a time to talk about present behaviour and/or sensory needs, Interagency Support and preparation for the Persoanlised Learning and Support Plan.
This section provides some examples of forms which can be completed in consultation with the parents/carers to assist in getting you started.
